MMI Ireland: Palliative Care Webinar

Dr. Chang served in Hospital Seri Manjung, Hospital Selayang and Hospis Malaysia from 2005-2012 in palliative care. Since August 2015, she started serving as an independent palliative care doctor where she continues to serve patients needing palliative care in their homes. She joined Beacon International Specialist Centre serving patients with advanced cancer and end-of-life care while continuing her work in the community.

Dr. Chang’s area of interest and passion is in palliative care for children focusing on enhancing quality of life of children with life-threatening conditions and their families, which include physical, emotional and social, care and support.

In spite of her busy schedule, Dr. Chang continues to share her professional expertise by giving back to the community in her support of palliative care services in various hospitals and NGOs. She also conducts training to other medical personnel in this field.

Dr Niamh qualified from Trinity College Dublin 2013 and undertook General Practice training in 2014.

She was awarded membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners in 2018 and worked as a GP assistant for a number of months.

She started serving in Palliative Medicine since 2018 in Our Lady’s Hospice and Care Services, Harold’s Cross and Blackrock in Dublin and has worked in a community and specialist in-patient unit.

Dr Cleary is now currently working as a clinical lecturer there.

We are very excited to bring to you a webinar on this unique specialty of palliative care - a specialty that is not often spoken about yet vital in holistic healthcare.

It brings immense comfort and support to many patients across the globe, and adds an aspect to medicine apart from just the ‘fix and treat.’ We hope that this webinar will give you more insight to this specialty and to the world of medicine!
