This is the first physician-musician ensemble in South East Asia, first concocted in New South Wales.
About us
Musicus Medicus is ASEAN’s first-ever medical orchestra jointly organised by Malaysian Medics International and Sunway University Ensemble. It is a diverse community of Malaysians from all over the world who are largely university students and health professionals.

Connect
To connect musicians amongst members of the Malaysian medical community from home and abroad with their professional orchestra counterparts.
Educate
To educate the mass public on health benefits of playing musical instruments and as a lifestyle choice.
Cultivate
To cultivate healthy lifestyle amongst medical students and professionals through playing music as an intervention for good mental health.
A short history of our inception
Musicus Medicus is inspired from a similar medical orchestra in New South Wales, Australia. Discussions were in place as early as December 2019 to bring this experience to South East Asia for the first time. We have then collaborated with Sunway University Ensemble to deliver a physical concert originally planned for June 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the concert has been postponed several times. We soon come to realise a concert in 2020 is no longer possible. Therefore, we are now looking into 2021 and beyond for our first-ever physical concert. We hope that Musicus Medicus will usher in this new decade of ours in 2021.
