MMI Malaysia organises more than 20 projects per year, completely led by medical students. As we strive to cultivate young medical students to become future healthcare leaders, many of those who started with MMI Malaysia has now led many other societies and organisation.

World Refugee Day is commemorated on June 20th every year to advocate for the plight of the refugees globally, celebrating their resilience, courage and contributions to society. Each year, World Refugee Day has a specific theme to highlight particular aspects of the refugee’s experiences, with the theme in 2023 set by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) being “Hope Away from Home”. Hence, this year, we shall continue to stand in unison with the refugees and work towards a more inclusive and compassionate world for those who have been forcibly displaced from their homes.
With that in mind, we collaborated with Refuge for the Refugees to conduct a physical charity concert, Refugeastra: Heartstrings for Humanity so that we can commemorate this wonderful day. All funds raised will be donated to all refugee organizations that are involved in this event.
Prepare to be enthralled by the dazzling and mesmerizing performances from refugee organizations like Lisu Refugee Centre, as well as talented students and clubs including UM KuaYue and Catholic High Live Band. This unforgettable night promises to be an extraordinary experience for all who attend! Get set for an exhilarating evening packed with dance, singing, band performances, wushu, and a stunning fashion show! It's a night you won't want to miss.
