Little Happiness

“It's a fortune to have met you,
Yet I have lost the right to cry for you;
I only wish at the end of the sky where I'm not able to see,
You spread your wings,
And meet your destined one,
How lucky she will be…..”
-A part of The Little Happiness translated

Sometimes we are so occupied with what is going to happen in the future that we forget to live in the present and enjoy it. Take a step back and experience the present in real-time using all our senses. Be aware and appreciate the things around us. Only then do we not live to regret so much.

Here we present to you a cover of A Little Happiness, a song by Hebe Tien which became the first Mandarin music video to exceed 100 million views on Youtube. This song speaks about realizing someone’s worth and value a little too late --- after they’re already gone.

Amazing performers from both MMI and SUE, having brought this song to life, namely our violinists Xin Ying and Bing Xuan with Cerene as pianist.

Big special thanks to video editors Diong Wen Xin and Teoh Sheng Hui, and to audio editor Tan Jun Hoe (Ean).

Getaran Jiwa

“Music is life. That is why hearts have beats.”

Getaran Jiwa marks the end of the World Music Day project in the month of June. Let this jazz cover transport you back to the relatively easy and slow-paced life of the 1960s, of black and white television, kerosene lamps and ice-cream men on bicycles.

This popular piece by P. Ramlee has been brought to life by both MMI and SUE players, namely Zainul Firdaus, Muhammad Haziq Abd Hamid, Alvin Ong and Terrance Chai Zheng Zhe.

Not to forget our hardworking video editors and audio editors who are Hoh Chee Cheng, Teoh Sheng Hui, Elton Ting Chong Yong and Tan Jun Hoe.

A round of applause to all our wonderful performers since the beginning, who took the time to participate and play music with their hearts. We couldn’t have done this without all of you.

Finally, a tremendous shout-out to the team players from both SUE and MMI who worked hard behind the scenes since day 1. ‘Stage crew is the heart of any production’.
