Coffee Meets Medics
21 September 2019 - Once again, we successfully held our annual post-departure event. The event this year was themed Coffee meet Medics and was held in Starbucks Coffee in Dublin. The focus of it was to encourage Malaysian medical students, seniors and 1st year/ pre-med juniors alike to meet up with their Malaysian peers who are studying in the 5 different Irish Medical Schools, and to help foster long lasting friendships amongst them. Through our interactive group event and casual setting in a coffee shop, we managed to create a welcoming atmosphere and provide a friendly experience for our participants. We hope to see you again in September 2020 and for our future juniors “Welcome to Ireland”!

Clinical Skills Workshop
19 October 2019 - This year's workshop mainly introduced pre-clinical students to a few clinical skills: history taking in Malay, ECG reading, and radiology interpretation. It was also a refresher course for third years who would like a back-to-basic run through of the skills that they need to master upon commencement of their clinical years. Participants were separated into 3 smaller groups that rotate through 3 stations, each having a doctor to teach one of the clinical skills mentioned. Overall, the students were satisfied with the early exposure and the doctors' ability to express complex terms into simpler explanations.

“Insider’s Guide To Medical Specialties” Annual Dublin Conference
29 February 2020 - Following previous traditions this year's annual Dublin conference happened right before COVID-19 was dubbed as a pandemic. “Insider’s Guide to Medical Specialties'' was a day-long event with a mixture of specialty talks in the morning along with interactive workshop sessions in the afternoon. An event specifically curated for both pre clinical and clinical year students. We had the honour of inviting some of the lead Irish consultants in their specific fields ranging from Upper GI Surgery to Emergency Medicine. The interactive workshops received great feedback from the participants due to the hands on experience giving them insights into Laparoscopy, Suturing, Intubation, Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This conference was also our first successful collaboration with UCD Surgical Society and third with MMIUK.
