Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Summit has always been about fulfilling Malaysian Medics International's broader aspirations - to Connect, Educate and Cultivate - and irrespective of the platform of delivery, we've always aimed to do just that. Through our online format, we've been able to recruit some of the most prominent names in Malaysian medicine to speak at our conference, from all across Malaysia - greatly enhancing the itinerary we're able to offer.

Speaking of the itinerary, the team behind MMS2022 has curated an extremely interesting itinerary, encompassing a broad range of interests, including (but not limited to) emerging specialties, e-Health, green medicine, health advocacy, medical volunteerism, and a debate on workplace cultures in Malaysian medicine. Very few medical student-run summits can claim to match the diversity we have on offer - certainly not at the admission price we're offering!

  • Standard admission to both days is priced at RM18. Unfortunately we are unable to offer conference packages this year.

FYI we're partnering with a number of medical societies to offer exclusive discounts of RM5 for a number of attendees. Be sure to ask your society!

  • The Summit will take place through Zoom - a platform that we're sure everyone's quite familiar with these days!

  • We kindly request that all participants dress in smart casual attire.

  • This year's MMS features a pre-summit session that is tailored towards our designated Members of Table, who will be involved in drafting the memorandum that MMI will present to the Malaysian Ministry of Health during the General Assembly.

  • The MMS General Assembly (MMS GA) is a 2-hour session where MMI presents a memorandum related to a key issue in Malaysian healthcare to representatives from the Malaysian Ministry of Health. The goal of the General Assembly has always been to provide a platform for the collective voice of Malaysian medics to advocate for meaningful change within the Malaysian healthcare system, and is in alignment with Malaysian Medics International's broader advocacy goals.

  • This year, we have elected to focus on the theme of "Improving the Well-Being and Welfare of Junior Doctors in Malaysia", in recognition of the mental health toll that has been inflicted on our junior doctors - housemen, medical officers and specialists-in-training alike - as a consequence of a chronically challenging, unsupportive workplace culture, as well as systemic issues in the Malaysian healthcare system that need to be addresses, issues that have been exacerbated by the pandemic. We feel the time is right to take a stand on this issue.

  • All attendees are encouraged to purchase a ticket, each priced at just RM18. This price is inclusive of access to two full days of Summit content, exclusive offers from our sponsors, as well as an E-certificate of attendance.

All participants are required to display their name on their user account. Unauthorised attendees will be removed from the session by our dedicated host.

  • We would encourage you to keep your camera on, if you wish, to facilitate engagement. However, this is purely voluntary.

  • We highly encourage questions from our delegates, either using your microphone or by using the Zoom chatbox. Alternatively, you can privately message our named moderator for the session, if you would prefer this.

  • At the moment, we are still seeking consent from the individual speakers as to whether we can record their session. Provided consent is given, we will be able to do so.
