Count Your Blessings, Not Your Calories Project is a 3 weeks project about eating disorders dedicated to increasing awareness of this common yet rarely discussed topic in conjunction with National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (21/2/2022 – 27/2/2022) in the United States.
According to research, the prevalence of eating disorders was found to be rising in lower and middle income countries in Southeast Asia compared to other countries in the world. Although it is more prevalent among teenagers, it can affect people of all ages.
Besides, mortality rate of eating disorders is the highest of all psychiatric illnesses. With good insight and adequate knowledge about eating disorders, they can seek treatment or offer help to someone immediately.
The sooner an eating disorder is diagnosed and treated, the better the chances of a good outcome.
