In this upcoming annual conference, MMII has decided to launch a new, team-based discussion competition called Innovation Challenge. We earnestly extend our invitation to medical students from around the world, including the other branch councils of MMI, such as the UK, Malaysia, China, and New Zealand.
A 2-hour pre-conference workshop will be held beforehand on 20th February. The aims are to prepare participants of the Innovation Challenge for the Challenge on the second day of the conference by giving them insight on the themes. Three themes that will be emphasized on include i) Diversity & Inclusivity, ii) Medical Education, and iii) Refugee Health.
Before the Innovation Challenge (20 - 27th February 2021):
We aim to have about 8 teams, which consists of 2-3 participants in each team to present on the second day of the conference. Each respective team would have to choose one of the themes to present.
During the Innovation Challenge (28th February 2021):
Each team would be allocated 15 mins in total, where each team needs to present for 10 mins with an additional 5 mins for Question & Answer (Q&A) at the end from the judges and audience.
After the Innovation Challenge (28th February 2021):
The judges may provide a few brief comments for the team. A combination of both audience voting and panel judges will help to determine the winners. The winners will be awarded with prizes.
