“Embracing these changes in the next decade will shape how we work and treat patients in the future.”
MMI Insight 2020 #09
To me as a medical student, it is all about being adaptable to the current trends in healthcare, and not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. I highly appreciate and admire the technological advancements in medicine and in improving the healthcare system in general. Embracing these changes in the next decade and beyond is something I really think we should do, with an open mind, as these will shape how we work and treat patients in the future. Hence, I believe it is important for our generation to be equipped with computer literacy skills since our life revolves around technology.
As demands in Malaysia's healthcare system have been varying over time, we should build the courage to collaborate and to urge for practical changes more often and efficiently. Initiatives such as writing policies under MMI in collaboration with other policy-making organisations will be a great stepping stone in creating an ideal future for us all in healthcare. It is also a great platform to encourage medical students to speak out and allow their ideas to flow freely. Hopefully, a practice such as this can enhance the quality in our healthcare system when a change is implemented, which satisfies and is respected by all parties.
